Update to the Criteria for Demonstrating Financial Solvency for Permanent Residency

The DNM Resolution No. 407/2026, which applies to applications filed on or after July 6, 2026, standardizes the criteria for demonstrating financial solvency in applications for permanent residence filed under both the Immigration Act and the MERCOSUR Residence Agreement.

1. Standardized CriteriaThe resolution establishes common criteria for demonstrating financial solvency in applications for permanent residence filed under the Migration Law and the MERCOSUR Residence Agreement.

2. Accreditation CategoriesThere are 12 categories of applicants, including professionals, technicians, employees, self-employed individuals, remote workers or digital nomads, property owners, shareholders or partners, farmers and ranchers, members of religious orders, retirees or pensioners, dependents, and students.

3. Specific DocumentationEach category must demonstrate its financial solvency by providing specific documentation that supports the declared activity or source of income.

4. Considerations for the ProcessThe profession or occupation and the type of accreditation will be recorded in the institutional system. It is also important to correctly identify the applicable category and to submit consistent, verifiable, and documented information to facilitate the evaluation of the application.
